(Press Release) Hewlett-Packard Co . won a patent infringement suit against personal computer seller eMachines Inc., a California law firm said. In a press release Friday, the firm Fish & Neave said the U.S. District Court in Houston last week found that eMachines infringed nine U.S. patents owned by Compaq Computer Corp. The court issued a permanent injunction barring eMachines from further infringement of two of these nine patents. Compaq, which merged with H-P in May, brought suit against eMachines in 1999 for patent infringement.
