(Press Release) ATI Technologies Inc. and its add-on-board partners are shipping the RADEON 9000 and RADEON 9000 PRO visual processors to the mainstream market, effective immediately. Both the RADEON 9000 and RADEON 9000 PRO feature industry-leading technologies, including quad-pipe architecture, with four parallel rendering pipelines; programmable pixel and vertex shaders, powered by SMARTSHADER, allowing mainstream users to benefit fully from Microsoft DirectX 8.1 for the first time; flexible multiple display architecture supported by HYDRAVISION, allowing effective use of multiple displays; and industry-leading video playback, featuring FULLSTREAM technology for accelerated and improved video streaming.

The RADEON 9000 and RADEON 9000 PRO graphics cards feature 64MB of DDR memory and flexible dual-display support including DVI-I, VGA and TV-out. RADEON 9000 PRO is now available at all major computer retailers across North America, at a suggested retail price of $149. A number of add-in-board manufacturers are also now shipping product based on RADEON 9000, at affordable prices.
