(Press Release) NETGEAR, Inc., announced that following the availability of its WG602 54Mbdps Wireless Access Point it earned the CNET and ZDNet Editors Choice Awards, the first available 802.11g draft compliant product in the industry to earn such recognition. These awards recognize outstanding computing and electronics products that CNET and ZDNet Editors have determined represent the highest quality, design, and service to users.
Based upon the draft 802.11g standard, the WG602 extends existing Ethernet-based networks to provide high-speed wireless access to network resources at speeds of up to 54Mbps, providing simultaneous support for both 802.11g draft and 802.11b wireless LAN standards. In addition, the WG602 offers the highest degree of standard WLAN security with 128-bit WEP and MAC Address authentication, and will support 802.1x and WPA with a future firmware upgrade.
