    (Press Release) ATI Technologies Inc. today announced that the FIRE GL X1-256 workstation graphics accelerator, featuring 256MB of DDR memory, dual DVI output, and an AGP Pro50 bus, is available on IA-32 based HP Workstations xw5000, xw6000 and xw8000. Powered by ATI's revolutionary FGL 9700 Visual Processing Unit (VPU) with a 128-bit floating point rendering pipeline, four geometry engines and eight parallel pixel pipes, the FIRE GL X1-256 is designed to deliver the precision and performance demanded by CAD (computer-aided design), DCC (digital content creation) and other professional 3D applications.
