Don't blink or you'll miss them: BenQ says its new LCD monitors deliver ultra-fast 12ms response time, eliminating ghost images or delays in video or game animation. The 17-inch model FP767-12 ($559) offers a 500:1 contrast ratio, 300 nits of brightness, and 0.264mm pixel pitch; the black-and-silver-framed, 1,280 by 1,024-pixel panel comes with a VGA analog connector. In May, BenQ will ship the FP783 ($589), a 17-inch LCD with 12ms response time, dual analog and DVI inputs, and optional stereo speakers and Web cam.
If you can settle for a 25ms response time, Envision Monitors' newest 17-inch flat panel is a thrifty $449, including a unique Lunar industrial design bezel with convenient, removable accessory holders, picture clips, and concealed storage tray in the height-adjustable base. The analog-interface Envision EN7220 also pivots between landscape and portrait modes, as well as offering 25-degree tilt, 70-degree swivel, and a 450:1 contrast ratio with 300 nits of brightness.
