Even if your PC is next to a bright window, Sony Electronics promises, its new LCD monitors will offer enhanced contrast and superior brightness, thanks to the XBrite screen technology pioneered on Sony's Vaio notebooks. The 17-inch SDM-HS74P (about $600) and 19-inch SDM-HS94P (about $850) also have an ErgoBright feature that lets users adjust brightness settings in one touch, with minimal loss of contrast or color fidelity.
The HS74P has a 500:1 contrast ratio, while the HS94P combines 450:1 contrast with ultra-fast 12ms response time. Both displays come with dual analog and digital inputs and a curved metallic base with flexible viewing angles. They'll be available in black and silver in July 2004.
