US Modular Offers 2GB USB Drive for $99
February 4, 2005
US Modular says it offers "high-density storage at low-density prices," and its latest example is the half-ounce Monstor Drive -- a 2GB palm-sized (1.7 by 1.4 by 0.2 inches) USB drive priced to compete with flash drives that offer only half or one-quarter the storage. Shipping later this month, the $99 Monstor incorporates a 4,200-rpm hard disk with 1,500G shock resistance rating (175G operating) that both transfers files and gets its power via an onboard USB 2.0 interface. Users with even more MP3 or video files or important images or documents to save can choose a 4GB model for $169.
