Averatec has revamped its lightweight notebook line with the launch of the 4100 Series, a slim 4.7-pound laptop with a high-contrast AveraBrite 13.3-inch widescreen display. Equipped with a standard-sized keyboard, the 4100 combines AMD's Turion 64 MT-30 processor with 512MB of DDR memory, an 80GB hard drive, and a DVD±RW burner.

Both 802.11b/g and Bluetooth wireless connections are standard, as are three USB 2.0 ports, a 4-in-1 (SD, MMC, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro) flash-card reader, and Windows XP Home Edition. The Averatec 4155-EH1 is available from Circuit City, BestBuy.com, Costco.com, and other retailers for $1,100.
