Corsair has announced a new addition to their high-speed flash drive family, the Flash Voyager 16GB GT USB 2.0 drive, which will debut at the CeBIT 2008 Show. The main use of flash drives is in transporting, sharing and backing up data, but Corsair has also put speed at the forefront of the Flash Voyager 16GB GT's development, contending that it is up to 4X faster than standard USB 2.0 drives. The speed is based on Corsair's advanced flash controller technology and its hand-selected NAND flash chips. This combination of speed and capacity means that users can easily back up large quantities of data, such as full-length movies and large graphic files.
Durability is also a major selling point, as the Flash Voyager 16GB GT features an all-rubber housing and is both water and shock resistant. Data security and integrity is enhanced by TrueCrypt encryption software, which offers AES 256-bit encryption. The Corsair 16GB Flash Voyager GT USB drive is bundled with a lanyard, security software preloaded, and a USB extension cable, and is backed by a 10-year Limited Warranty. Speaking of Corsair's position as leader in high-performance memory, Jack Peterson, VP of Corporate Marketing at Corsair stated, "Thats why our latest Flash Voyager GT offers both higher speeds and higher capacities than standard USB drives, making them ideal for discerning customers." The Flash Voyager 16GB GT is available immediately and will have an approximate MSRP of $169.99 USD.
