The new Wireless Laser Desktop 7000 from Microsoft includes an ultrathin Comfort Curve keyboard with a smoked translucent border and curved design. The keyboard offers a curved design with slight 6-degree curve, and features floating hot-keys, and instant access to Windows Flip 3D. The desktop combo is bundled with a rechargeable Wireless Laser Mouse 7000, with a battery status indicator, and a horizontal charging base station. It utilizes standard 2.4 GHz wireless technology, for easy set up, interference-free operation, and the freedom to move up to 30 feet away from the base receiver.
Microsoft also touts the Wireless Laser Desktop 7000 design as complementing Windows Vista and its Aero interface, in terms of not only its sleek good looks, but also the Vista-oriented features. "The Wireless Laser Desktop 7000 truly brings the best of both worlds together a beautiful design and a full suite of productivity features making it the best option for customers desiring a sophisticated accessory for their computer," said Carla Forester, group marketing manager at Microsoft. Microsoft is also introducing the Digital Media Keyboard 3000, a low cost wired model with one-touch access to photos, Windows Media Player, My Favorites Keys and Zoom, as well as Flip 3D. The Wireless Laser Desktop 7000 will hit the streets in April 2008 at an estimated retail price of $129.95 USD, while the Digital Media Keyboard 3000 will debut a bit later in June 2008 for an estimated retail price of $29.95 USD.
